New Monkey Bat Music

HEY! Theres new music coming out of the Monkey Bat studio! I dont know what the hell its gonna sound like, but I can gaurantee you that you have never heard anything like it before.

Live Stream 11-10-12

Monkey Bat will be streaming our performance live @ Lucid Lounge on Saturday November 10th from 6 to 8:00 PM. Our friend Flora McGill will be opening our little show and performing from 6:00 to 6:45. Monkey Bat will take it out performing our new album back to back with at least 1 new song. We hope to see your face.

Album progress

Been in the studio working on new music. In the meantime our album just came out of Mastering and it is KILLER. As soon as we get the artwork finished we'll have it pressed and ready for distribution. I am WAY looking forward to that :0)

Final Mix

The final mixing session was a great experiance. We have the best Engineers! Mastering is next then duiplication and printing, Wont be loing now.

New Album

Hello Monkey Bat friends

Here’s some fresh info:

Monkey Bat just finished recording their 1st album at Studio Litho (Stone Gossard's place). Next up is the mixing session (next week) at Electrokitty. Then mastering, artwork, photos, liner notes printing etc. We're hoping to have it ready and available by just after Thanksgiving.

Its a dirty mix but I wanted to "secretly" share it with you for a minute cause it think its really kick ass.

New Monkey Bat Music

We are excited to start recording the new Monkey Bat album later this month at Studio Litho.  We’re so in the zone right now that we have already written two new songs for the second album. One of the new songs “Fingers” has an ultra-cool abstract layer that after counting it out was discovered to be in 13/8. No wonder it sounded so cool :0)

Strawberry Festival

This Sunday Monkey Bat is going to be playing at the Vashon Island Strawberry Festival at the beer garden from 1:30 to 2:30. This is one of the last performances before we go into the studio to record our new album.

Skylark club This Sunday

This Sunday were playing at the Skylark in West Seattle with our old friend Jude Contreras and our new friends from Shogo. This show is a daytime show and all ages are welcomed\encouraged to come.

As an added bonus Monkey Bat drummer Vern will be playing the drums for Shogo as well.

Shipwreck gig tonight 6/1/12 ??

Here’s a 1st

There seems to be a rumor that we are playing at the Shipwreck tonight in West Seattle.
Believe it or not I can neither confirm nor deny that. As soon as I have solid information I will post it here.

Yes it is apparently some sort of a miscommunication and we are NOT playing there tonight. We do however really look forward to playing there soon. We will keep you posted :0)

Blue Moon June 21st

Next up is the Skylark show in West Seattle. It's an all-ages show with 3 bands. Our friend Jude who was in Monkey Bat before it was called Monkey Bat will be starting off the event at 4:00. Shogo will be on deck next at 5:00. Monkey Bat drummer will be playing the drums for Shogo. Monkey Bat will finish off the show from 6 to 7:00.

Bite on Broadway and Music Walk

This Sunday were going to hang out at the Bite on Broadway and Music Walk.
Specifically we'll be at this really cool little restaurant called Americana Restaurant which is at 219 Broadway East.
While were there were going to play our set. We’ll play at 4:30 ish chill for an hour, have some most excellent food and then play another set. During our break if there’s any Jazz musicians who want to get in on the action and jam, e-mail us and well try and work something out.

Before The Music Dies

Once upon a time there was a thing called radio and it was way cool, but that was a looong time ago. Monkey Bat is not at all impressed with the state of the media and more specifically “radio” these days. Apparently (and thankfully) we are amongst a growing number of humanity who can see a welcomed change on the horizon. The Mix Gig

Monkey Bat rocked The Mix in Georgetown last night.

It's a cool place, sounds ok, nice people, great band room.

Georgetown is apparently the up and coming “hip” part of town. It can look a little scary on the surface but it’s actually ok. It is a colorful experience for sure.

High Dive Gig

Thanks for coming out to the High Dive to see our 1st official gig. It was a rockin good show. I was able to make a cool video thanks to Master G's iPhone (B roll) Now onto the Mix this Thursday. Then a few more shows, some recording, logos, artwork, T-Shirts, buttons, action figures? etc.

Totally cool sneak peak (1st gig) last night! Full house, great crowd etc. Of course as always we learned something. I appreciate all of the input and of course your presence. Looking forward to fixing a few things and then playing the High Dive on April 29^th. Hope to see you there.

The new set

After playing the set twice last night I felt like I went to thy gym. This is an awesome set, but it is physically and mentally demanding. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Wait till you see it, it is a very challenging & engaging collection of music.
